What the card shows
A young man stands in a desert, holding a tall wand planted in the ground with both hands. With his head tipped back, he’s studying the top of the wand, where green leaves have sprouted. He wears a pale hat with an orange-red feather that looks like a tongue of flame, a yellow tunic patterned with black salamanders, a long pale yellow cloak lined with orange, and light boots with a dark, jagged trim. Orange sand stretches underfoot, three pyramids rise on the right, and the sky is pale blue. There’s no one else around, only sand and the stone of the pyramids.
Upright
Among the court cards the Page is the youngest, the suit’s apprentice. In Wands he’s the one who has just caught fire: an idea, a passion, a venture he barely knows anything about yet. He studies his wand as if seeing it for the first time and wondering what might grow from it. He may arrive as a first interest in a profession, hobby or trip, as news that sparks your curiosity, or as someone near you full of enthusiasm.
Around him is open desert with no roads yet, only pyramids on the horizon. The Page of Wands isn’t daunted by that space; to a free spirit it doesn’t threaten, it invites. Come at something new the way a student would: ask, try, make mistakes without drama. You don’t have to know yet whether this will become your life’s work. Give yourself time to explore, and test the idea in practice on a small, safe scale.
Keywords: curiosity, enthusiasm, a new passion, exploration, exciting news
Reversed
The reversed Page stands in the desert unable to pick a direction. There are plenty of ideas, each appealing in its own way, and the choice keeps slipping: one passion today, another tomorrow, the first again the day after. That kind of indecision makes everything shaky. Pick one direction for a trial run and follow it to a first result.
The fire burns but never turns into anything: courses started and dropped, projects discussed with delight and forgotten a week later, enthusiasm spent on talk. Sometimes fear sits underneath, the worry that in practice the idea won’t be as lovely as it is in your head. Bring your gaze down from the tip of the wand to the ground and make something you can actually touch.
Keywords: indecision, scattered energy, fear of starting, abandoned projects, all talk
Page of Wands in relationships
A light, playful start: flirting, lively messages, someone who’s fun to be around even if you can’t tell where it’s going. Reversed, the Page may point to someone who catches fire quickly and cools just as fast, or to an attraction where nobody makes the first move. In a long-standing couple, he asks for a little curiosity about each other again, and something new tried together.
Page of Wands at work
At work the Page of Wands is the intern, the newcomer, the person just starting to learn a field. It’s a good time for training, pilot projects and first steps in unfamiliar territory. Reversed, it points to scattered effort and ventures that never reach a first result. Ask questions freely and choose a small task where you can test an idea without much at stake; sometimes the card arrives as news, an offer or an invitation to try.
Page of Wands as advice for the day
Design a small experiment for an idea that’s on your mind: give it one evening, make a rough sample, ask a question of someone who knows the field. Treat it as a student would: curious to see what happens, with no pressure to succeed straight away. Tonight, write down three things you learned.
The card’s lesson
